ICSW-CAWOLED SOCIALPROTECTION FLOOR INITIATIVE (SPFI) TRAINING FOR CSOsIN COMMONWEALTH CENTRAL AND WEST AFRICAN COUNTRIES

The Cameroon Women in Leadership and Development (CAWOLED) in collaboration with the International Council on Social Welfare (ICSW), with the support from the Commonwealth Foundation and SIDA has organised from 12 ti 15 December 2011 in Douala a training on the Social Protection Floor Initiative (SPFI). The SPFI was adopted by the UN Executive Board in April 2009 as a response to the global financial crisis. Since then, the General Assembly of the ICSW Members adopted the SPFI as a core part of their programm by strengthening National councils and enhancing their abilities to be effective advocates for social development and poverty reduction at national and regional levels. Thereafter, an initial social protection workshop was heid in Dakar, Senegal in October for Umbrella Organisations from West Africa.

The objectives of the trainaing have been to increase civil society contribution to design and advocate for the implementation of socialprotection floor in Sub.

- Saharan countries through a new awareness and knowledge on SPFI;

- Influence policies on social protection to overcomme poverty;

- Facilate dialogue between policy makers and the poor as well as the representatives of the poor.

ETAIT-CE UN ADIEU ?

Le 02 Juin 2012, la nouvelle du décès de Mme Paschaline FONYUY TAR épouse LEUNDEU, Présidente de CAWOLED a laisé les membres de CAWOLED et ceux des organisations  partenaires sans voix. Il en était de même pour notre Présidente Fondatrice Madame Chantal KINGUE EKAMBI à Nairobi au Kenya.

Ces images illustrent la dernière activité que nous avons organisée à Douala au Cameroun du 13 au 15 Décembre 2011 0 L'Hôtel Résidense La Falaise, avec nos partenaires nationaux et internationaux. Il s'agit de l'Atelier de Formation des Organisations de la Société Cvile des Pays du Commonwealth de l'Afrique Centrale et de l'Ouest sur "l'Initiative pour un Socle de Protection Sociale".  Paschaline a beaucoup oeuvré pour l'amélioration des conditions de vie des populations. Qu'elle repose en paix dans la Demeure du Très Haut.
